IEC CERTIFICATE UPDATION
Introduction
As per government regulations, IEC needs to be updated every year between April- June to ensure that it remains valid and in compliance with the DGFT Notification No. 58/2015-2020).
The IEC is a 10-digit code that is mandatory for businesses engaged in import or export activities. It is issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Failure to update your IEC can lead to deactivation and no import and export activity will be possible.
To update your IEC, you will need to submit an online application through the DGFT website. The process is simple and can be completed within a few days. Once your application is approved, you will receive an updated IEC, which you can use for your import or export activities.
It is important to note that failure to update your IEC can result in delays and interruptions to your import or export activities. This can have a negative impact on your business and can lead to financial losses. Therefore, we urge you to ensure that your IEC is updated on time every year.
